Nineteeth Plenary Session

On 28-29 August 2008, the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda held hearing in François Karera case and delivered judgement in the Tharcisse Muvunyi case. On 29 August 2008, the judges met for a Plenary Session.

During the meeting, the Rules Committee presented its report on the proposed amendments to the Directive on the Assignment of Defence Counsel and Rules of Procedure and Evidence proposed submitted by Defence Counsel during the last plenary session. No amendments were adopted by the Plenary Session.

The Judges also discussed various matters, including on the work progress and the completion strategy of the Tribunal.
